    Exclamation Heads up, no campfires in ONF until the end of July

    Fire Restriction Emergency Closure OrderDate(s): Mar 31, 2020
    Fire officials on the Ocala National Forest are implementing a Fire Restriction Emergency Closure Order banning all fires or campfires on the entire forest effective March 31 to July 31, 2020, due to the unseasonably high drought index and lack of rain.

    I was thinking about doing an overnighter in the ONF.
    ...Or is that shut down/ off limits?

    A friend of mine on facebook sent me a link, and the hiking trails near 19 and 40 are still open, and "dispersed camping" aka stealth camping is still allowed.

    Yeah, backcountry is still open as far as I know. Probably quite buggy with the heat we've been getting.
