    Default Crazy crib?

Does anyone have any experience with the crazy crib? I am just starting to try hanging and don't want to spend the money for a HH in case I don't like it. I like that fact that it uses webbing instead of coeds but the weight seems heavy, any suggestions?

If you don't want to drop the $$$ right away on a HH, try the Moskito - it has bug protection and it's cheaper than the one you posted. I haven't used it so I can't comment on the quality, though.

If you buy your HH at REI and don't like it, you can take it back for a refund.
    Peace,

I really like my crazy crib. I also have a clark north american and a home made speer. The crib has a double layer of fabric so you can put your pad between the layers and it stays in place. It uses straps so it is "tree friendly". The tarp has peeks at both ends so rain doesn"t blow in. Bug nets are cheap and can easily be attatched to the tarp or run a line for star gazing. I like the open top hammocks for versatility because HH hammocks aren"t for everyone.

I have a Crazy Crib that I picked up at REI once for $40. It's decent if a bit heavy. The buckles on the webbing straps area nice. I find my Speer to be more comfortable and thus the Crazy Crib doesn't get used anymore. If you get a Speer or Hennessey down the line, then the Crazy Crib will be wasted money.

Picked this one up in green, Why? I liked the way it looked and figured I can use it at the beach if it isn't comfortable enough for camping.

You will love it...I have one with and without the netting.
    Its light large and comfortable.
Have fun and one of those cheap Wal-Mart nets for $9.99 hung on a ridgeline works great with it.

Mine doesn't get used as much now that I made the "speer" but I don't feel it's wasted money. I can let my friends use it to experience the joy of hammock camping. I'm just not as aggressive about it as Neo.
