Looking for New Men's Trail Runners or Lightweight Hiking Boots

I typically hike in the Northeast. For many years, I've worn Salomon XA Pro 3D trail runners. I have a pretty normal foot.

I am not interested in soles that have big lugs on the bottom. I'm only interested in soles that have tons of little lugs that aren't deep or wide. I'm looking for a sole that will offer the largest contact patch between me and whatever I'm walking on.

I really like my Salomom X ultra 3 's. Good grip, decent shank/footbed on rocks for a lightweight trail shoe. They have lugs, but they aren't huge ones.

I've settled upon Altra Lone Peaks. After various dalliances with other brands and even other models of Altra, I always come back to Lone Peaks.

I started out with the Altra lone peaks then switched to the Altra temps same 0 drop but cushioned on the bottom. Super grip never slip.

I have been very happy with 5 pairs of altras so far. Get about 500+ miles out of them, zero complaints

The only real way to find a new type of shoe or boot that will work for an individual is to go to outfitters with a broad shoe/boot selection to get answer the look, feel, and fit question. While opinions of others are useful for confirming use longevity, when it comes to preferences they are subjective at best.
