Default Where to put my pup while hiking the Smokies

I'll be leaving from Springer mid March and was hoping someone might have a good place to board him while I do. Any assistance would greatly appreciated.

There are several listed in Attroll's "Whitepages". You should get a copy. $250 to $400 depending on who you choose.

Last I checked, dogs aren't allowed on the AT in the smokies. If you took your dog through the smokies, you broke a rule.

I totally missed “Smokies” in the title! Somehow I thought he wanted to do the AT, and where to leave his dog while he did. We boarded ours through the Smokies, sorry for the confusion! SMH !

A local friend watched him for 4 days. My wife was nearly in tears. Scout was 5 years old, and that was the first time we’d ever left him anywhere!

Aldo can you please clarify your initial post? You are leaving for Springer in March (to thruhike?) with or without your dog? Sounds like yes but you want to figure out how to board him when you reach the Smokies?

    Thank you.

I have a suggestion. Consider hiking the Smokies as a warmup section hike. Leave the dog home, let a friend or family member watch the dog. Then when you thru hike when you get to the Smokies go around them with your dog.
