Default 4 day hike in October

    Hi All,

I'm planning a 4 day/3 night hike in October, starting at Dick's Creek Gap, GA, heading north. I'm curious as to the condition of the trail and the shelter closures. Specifically, with the shelters "closed", is tent camping at the shelter areas still allowed? Are the privies "closed", too? Is bear activity higher or lower than normal? If anyone's been out recently, I would appreciate any insights.

    Thanks!

Plan to tent. Plan to dig holes for bathroom. Bear activity is a constant.

Thank you. I am planning to tent, but would like to know if I can tent at the shelter areas or if the entire area is "closed".
