Grayson Highlands, Damascus, Daleville

Trying to plan a short section hike with my son next week around the Demascus / Grayson Highlands to Daleville area. Wondering if the shelters are open in this area now? Would like to tent near them if they are, or is this area going to be so crowded that there won’t be spots available? Thanks for any advice!!

You will have no issues finding ample tenting spaces.

Shelters open. Shouldn't be too crowded except hot spots like Grayson Highlands and McAfee if you hit them on a weekend.

Have a face covering with you for any in-town activity.
