Default Resupply options beyond Rockfish Gap / Waynesboro

Will be starting another section hike from the James River north within the next week or so. Figure to resupply in Buena Vista / Lexington and in Waynesboro once I reach Rockfish Gap. Unsure as to the status of the various waysides in Shenandoah National Park after that. Has anyone hiked that section recently? What are the various resupply options beyond Rockfish Gap heading north through the park? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Elkwallow wayside in SNP was open 9:00am till 5:00pm when I was there last week. Not great variety of food on the shelf, but definitely enough to get you through the park. Cooked food was very good. Planning it so you hit the waysides for big meals a good idea.

you can resupply in Luray and you have a great hostel there: Open Arms at the Edge of Town and the owner does shuttles too.

It's easier to get into/out of Glasgow then Buena Vista for resupply.

Agree that Luray had grocery, hostel/shuttle if needed, etc. Wayside closing dates 2020:

Pack light... lots of food open until November! Loft, Big Meadows, Skyland, Elk.... nicely spaced out. Some of them have good hot food; had some good beers & burgers at big meadows when I hiked through, even though it's a little bit of a walk up the road from the campground.

Just finished Thornton GAP to Rockfish section yesterday and the campstores had there food production closed. LOTS of food available, just nothing prepared for you. On a side note I saw restroom/shower/laundry facilities closed from 1pm to 3pm for cleaning, daily so dont plan on mid day chores.
