Good question - it would seem that the trail itself isn't likely to change as much this year (given that many of the usual projects that would make it longer/shorter are likely to have not happened), but at the same time the research to verify things like places to stop etc. may be harder as places may not be open as usual or may have different/limited services, with more likelihood that those could change more rapidly even during the upcoming year.
My thoughts exactly Billy, one would have to wonder how many businesses have closed from the 2020 slowdown of traffic on the AT.
I think it would be mostly a matter of which hostels will be open and who is still doing shuttles. Motels, stores and restaurants aren't going anywhere. Hope we don't lose many hostels. They make the trail quite a bit more affordable - and interesting.

I would think next year the most up to date info will be on Guthook as hikers start using services and finding what is/isn't open.

Depends (possibly on which part of the trail), as many have predicted a fair number of restaurants may close due to being restricted in how many they can serve. Hopefully not, but it may impact some areas. Some motels may be as well, again due to lack of business for a period of time (though maybe not as much in these areas, as hikers tend towards ones that are less costly and possibly need less to survive). Stores probably not.
