    Is the outfitter on the other end of town near Dot's (or where Dot's was) still open too?

    Great place! The fella there sewed my hipbelt when it really needed it,refused payment for that. We had bought some stuff we needed,but not enough for him to deal with my stinky pack for free. Will never forget his kindness.

    a local woman bought up a bunch of properties in town which included the building MRO was in and the hostel. she wanted him out by 31 Jan. the hostel hasn't been open for a few years

    They kept my violin safe while I was hiking in that area...above and beyond as far as I'm concerned.

    Thank you! I have visited Damascus during section hikes. Mt. Rogers Outfitter was always an interesting and helpful place to go. Taking someone through Damascus who would enjoy seeing what an outfitter looks like. Glad it is still there, although in a new spot. We will stop in!

    no.MRO has nothing to do with Sundog. MRO is doing well at the new location
