    Default Cleaning candle lantern

I love my candle lantern, but it is pretty gunked up. What is the best way to clean one?

Try putting it into a freezer for a few hours
It makes the excess wax easy to remove

For removing exess wax from items like Christmas tree candle holders we usually place it on a paper towel and rest it atop the garage oven at a moderate temperature that just lets the wax slowly melt down to get dissolved by the paper.
Be careful to not burn down the garage, though.

I often clean wax by poring boiling water over it. Fast, easy, and effective.
You can also just dunk something into almost boiling water and the wax will float off in a few minutes.
    I'm not lost. I'm exploring.

    Ahemmm...
I do have a garage (where never a car had been) modified into a private mechanical shop and there's an oven where I can do such stinky heat stuff without poinsoning the whole house.
