    Default Spirit of choice

What does everyone like to pack? Would love to bring some woodford reserve but man I really like it chilled. Tequila tastes ok warm I guess. What do you guys prefer above room temp?

Tequila has a pretty good buzz to weight ratio. Plus you never have to filter water again. A couple of shots will kill off any nasties in your tummy.

Good single malt Scotch. Highland in the summer, big peaty Islay malts in the shoulder seasons.

Yeah man. Any nice bourbon or tequila. I also enjoy something sweet like disaronno or grand marnier

I'll second this! Although, I'll also drink a peaty Islay any time of year.
    I'm not lost. I'm exploring.

Palcohol coming to market towards year end. Dehydrated booze.

As a beer & ale guy, I rely on the goodness of trail angels to leave something in the stream for me, or go without. but if I'm just out for an overnighter, I'll bring a few with me, and a few to share. 6 pounds of "who'd like to join me", and the next day's pack is super light!

    Love my gin, too.

I'm also a Scotch drinker in training.

I do not have a problem!

I carried Jack Daniels every mile from Georgia to Franconia Notch, New Hampshire. I gave up the booze about 14 months ago and havent missed it a bit really....or have I?

The weather in Alaska might be more amenable to this. Here, when it's 90+ and super humid even late in the evening in the summer, the peaty whiskies are just not right.

Lately I'm sipping a little Dickel 12 of an evening. I'm a cheap date.

Bourbon for me. Not picky, anything above bottom shelf will do just fine.

I guess there is no ABC/Liquor store in Damascus, VA? Not finding anything online just in Abbington.

I usually don't section hike when I drink but when I do, I like the Four Roses single barrel bourbon and a nice CAO Bones Maduro.

Well, if you can get everclear, you can mix it or use it in an alcohol stove. Many cold meals...lol 99.9% alcohol. Do NOT try it straight. Burns your lips.
