On Facebook there was a link posted on Hiking the Smokies group to the TN Air National Guard website that a Blackhawk helicopter from the Knoxville Airbase lowered a paramedic to the site. After a medical assessment with Park Rangers on site the paramedic and young lady were hoisted into the helicopter and flown to UT Hospital in Knoxville.
