    Default Apex temp rating Q

I currently have a 40 deg hydrophobic down quilt for summer use. I need to upgrade to a three-season sleep system. I am considering a 20 deg Enlightened Equipment quilt. They come in down and Apex. I am attracted to the Apex due to its low cost and performance in damp conditions. I understand the up sides of down (compressibility, weight, eg), so no need to comment on that. I specifically wonder if the temperature ratings of the two are comparable. Is it reasonable to expect that the EE 20 deg Apex quilt is as warm as the 20 deg down quilt?

I’d recommend getting a 50 deg Apex quilt to layer on top of your summer weight down quilt!

I know there are many variable in sleeping bag performance and it is a very personal item. The only info I can add is I built a DIY summer quilt from Ripstop by the roll; Front country quilt kit. I used 2.5oz Apex. the internet claims that is good to roughly 50*. I have had it to those temps and been completely comfortable.
