Default Thinking about doing some of it

We will be a month in GA and while I have done 50 miles of the AT in GA I really want to "save" the rest of it for an attempted thru in a year or 2. So I thought I might do some small pieces of the BMT when I have time. Is it easy enough to get on for say 4-5 days at a time? I won't have the ability to do a complete hike so would like to just pick a few places to jump on and off. Will probably have 2 or maybe 3 chances to hike for up to 5 days. We will be in Hiawassee for a month if that helps, so starting within an hour +/- driving of there would be good.

    Thanks

Sure, it’s easy enough to put together section hikes. Looks like Skeenah Gap is about 35 minutes from Hiawassee so that may be a convenient place to start. There are some nice trails around Brasstown Bald too which are even closer to Hiawassee..Arkaquah, Wagon Train, and Jacks Knob trails.
