Default nyt: ‘I Wanted That Self-Reliance Back’: Disabled Hikers Forge a New Path

    https://www.nytimes.com/2022/02/03/travel/disabled-hikers-outdoor-access.html

Toward the end, the article mentions Trevor Thomas (trail name Zero Zero), a blind hiker who now trains guide dogs for trail hiking. I met him many years ago on Stratton Mt. on his AT thru, and was amazed at what he was doing. Now I am pleased to hear that he has working to make the outdoors accessible to others who dare to try.

Maybe slightly off topic, but that article called to mind a guy with the trail name Mischief, who just started a NOBO thru hike on the AT a week or so ago. I met him last year on the Bartram and found him an inspiration, since he's a double amputee, missing most of both feet (frostbite). He's one of the most determined and hard-willed people I've ever seen, while being unassuming and somewhat shy in person.

I've seen some Facebook posts about Mischief. Had no idea he's an amputee. Sounds like a very committed guy!
