I dont plan to ever use the side pockets to put water bottles in. Any ideas out there on how to close off the side access to the pockets so I can store other items from the top open access without worrying about them falling out? Thanks

I don't have an Exos, but I do have a Volt. So I think I know about the side access you are talking about.
I've had no issues with the opening because the whole pocket is a stretch mesh. I usually put things like water filters and other things that generally are not a risk of falling out.
