    Post Sectioning Smokys September 15 - 30

Slow old guy hiker here with 1400 AT miles done, max 10 miles a day. Looking to share shuttle fees with 1-3 other quiet folk.
I plan to work by the Cosby Knob bear closing by shuttling up to Newfound Gap, hiking down to Standing Bear, driving to Fontana, shuttling back up to NfG, and walking down to Fontana.
Weather and knees permitting, continuing on to Springer could happen?

By mid September, the closure of Cosby Knob might be lifted.
While actual bear behavior determines when a closed campsite is reopened, the typical period for a campsite closure is about a month.
However, as closures go, Cosby does seem to get closed a lot.
