Gene Espy

I posted a while ago that I'm writing a book about Legends (or maybe Characters) of the AT. A lot of people are saying that they don't consider themselves legends, but their stories are still worth telling. I've been trying to get hold of Gene Espy through his contact info on his website. It redirects saying it isn't active any longer. Does anyone know of his current status? I'm assuming he might be in a care facility or something. I'd still love to interview him if he's up to it, and would be willing to travel to do so. Any info would be helpful. Otherwise, I'll have to go with the information I have compiled so far. Thanks for any help you might be able to offer.

Gene Espy was living in the Macon, Ga. area several years back. I used to live there and I was fortunate enough to meet him several years ago (2014 or 15). He was almost 90 years of age back then. I’m not sure of his current status. Good luck!
