Today my wife and I gave each other pre-Christmas gifts. She gave me the 13 state challenge patch. I almost lost it! All the miles, all the time on the trail came flooding back. WoW!!! How about you?

Santa hasn't been here so far, but I'm going to present our daughter, having been my partner at the Arctic Circle Trail, a voucher for joining me at the Hardangervidda loop in 2024.

I met a woman in the gym about 5 months ago and for the first time in 4 years I won't be alone over the holidays.

well, i have the same wonderfully reckless people, who invited themselves last year, coming back again for this x-mas.

and just as last year they will have to drop me off at a trailhead for 100 miles of hiking when they leave. a delayed start is just as good as one on time.
