Pennsylvania Midstate trail

I'm looking for information more current than 2016 on the PA Midstate trail before I purchase the Farout map for this? I'd be starting at the southern terminus, backpack maybe 40 miles. Can anyone provide curent review of that trail? Water sources especially. Yes, I did search WB but what fund was too old to be of use to me.
