Default Dennis "Peakbagger" Pednault Has Died

I got a text from Dennis's cellphone a little while ago, informing me that he has unfortunately passed away. Gerard Pednault has more info but I don't want to post his # publicly, DM me if you need it.

This is so so sad Peakbagger reached out to me a couple times to help me out thru the whites but I didn't take him up on his offer while I was up there. I will miss his contributions to the group here.
Condolences to his family and friends.

Wow. What terrible news. I always enjoyed his thoughtful and informative posts on here. He will be missed. One of the good ones for sure.

I would like to read a fitting tribute if anyone comes across one and cares to share.

Those words describe him so well: "thoughtful and informative." He was one of a select group of White Mountain Whiteblazers who contributed interested stories from that area and who provided needed information for so many visiting that stretch of the AT. He'll be sorely missed by us Whiteblazers.

Informative, intelligent, wry, and always interesting with his ability to communicate with a wide swath of our community as a demonstrated expert in his beloved White Mountains. Peakbagger was part of our fabric, a trusted source of information who would go well out of his way to help others. A true mountaineer in every sense. My condolences to his family and close friends here, we will miss his wisdom and fellowship.

Found the following, posted by his brother in another forum - as you see he requested it be passed along to other forums for anyone who may be interested

    -------------------------------

Since joining this forum, which meant so much to dennis, I have discovered dennis has been active in at least a few internet hiking and backpacking forums.

I am providing this email address [email protected] so that friends in other forums can express their thoughts directly to the family

Please feel free to post above email address to other forums in which he was active.

Dennis was a salt-of-the-earth good man and a fun hiking companion who developed and happily shared his vast knowledge of the Great Outdoors ... posted a few words on VFTT:
