I got a text from Dennis's cellphone a little while ago, informing me that he has unfortunately passed away. Gerard Pednault has more info but I don't want to post his # publicly, DM me if you need it.

This is so so sad Peakbagger reached out to me a couple times to help me out thru the whites but I didn't take him up on his offer while I was up there. I will miss his contributions to the group here.
Condolences to his family and friends.

Wow. What terrible news. I always enjoyed his thoughtful and informative posts on here. He will be missed. One of the good ones for sure.
I would like to read a fitting tribute if anyone comes across one and cares to share.

Those words describe him so well: "thoughtful and informative." He was one of a select group of White Mountain Whiteblazers who contributed interested stories from that area and who provided needed information for so many visiting that stretch of the AT. He'll be sorely missed by us Whiteblazers.
Always helpful! He will be missed for sure. His experience cannot be replaced!
RIP
Didn't know him but his posts/info/thoughts on here were priceless. Very sad to read this.

Very sorry to hear it. I always enjoyed his posts.
Very sorry to hear for all the reasons stated above. Seemed like a real gentleman from the way he posted.
Very sad news. His posts here were always some of my favorites.
May he Rest In Peace.
Informative, intelligent, wry, and always interesting with his ability to communicate with a wide swath of our community as a demonstrated expert in his beloved White Mountains. Peakbagger was part of our fabric, a trusted source of information who would go well out of his way to help others. A true mountaineer in every sense. My condolences to his family and close friends here, we will miss his wisdom and fellowship.
RIP peakbagger. One of my favorite WhiteBlaze contributors. You will be missed.
He was tremendously helpful as I prepared to section the Whites in 2019. Entertaining and informative. He will be missed.
Oh, this make me so sad! What a loss for all of us!
RIP Dennis Peakbagger.
