    Default Mother Hen?

I read some old trail journals where people stayed with a woman known as Mother Hen and they all stated it was preferable to the Ironmasters Hostel because she provided some slack packing services and took people to great places to eat.

Does anybody know if she is still operating?

As far as I know, the neighbors complained, so she had to shut down. I think that 2001 was probably her last year.

    Default Mother Hen

I stayed with her in 2000, she was awesome, great stop. It is a shame she couldn't continue.

Thanks for the update. That timeframe seems to be consistent with the journals I was reading.

That's a shame, I stayed there on my section hike of PA in 2000. Awesome lady and a great meal. She even lent myself and another hiker her mini-van to go to town for some beer. Nosy neighbors.....
