We just got back from hiking Swatara Gap to Port Clinton. There was water at Eagle's Nest Shelter, although the flow wasn't strong. We also got water at Hertline and at William Penn Shelter. Phillip's Canyon seemed dry, although we only went 50 yards off the trail. Almost all of the other water sources in that section are accessible only if you leave the trail, and we didn't check them. If you are careful, the three easy sources will get you through.

Rausch Gap spring was flowing very well 2 weeks ago. That area got torrential rain in late June. As a result, the springs are doing better than is typical for late summer.

Yeah I figured that all the rain we got in the beginning of the summer helped out a great deal but was outside the other day and the grass was so dry it got me thinking, "when was the last time we had a good rain". Just hope this doesn't continue into the fall.

Just got back from this section yesterday. You can get water in PC, we didn't go into Phillips Canyon but there was water at the shelter. When you are walking in towards the shelter, go left up the hill and there are some pools above where you cross. There is another spring closer to 183 (can't remember the name).
