Wild rumor started by democrats.

No - according to Republicans they're in cahootz with the terrorists!
I thought sometimes that Amicalola Falls State Park should be a great starting (or ending) point of Appalachian Trail. It have all essential to give hikers comfort before starting the northbound hike. It have gift shop, restroom facility, supplies, etc.
Hope they will make this approach-appalachian trail into official Appalachian Trail.

Depends entirely on your perspective. It's either 9 miles or 2200 miles.
It seems funny to me to start/end a trip on a mountaintop. I know Moses ended his trip on a mountaintop, but, he was taken up to Heaven By God. Are there any hikers who have ended their trip the same way?Originally Posted by rhjanes
The approach trail already WAS the AT. It ain't anymore. After 60 years why change it back?

You're "hiking while on the Approach trail too", you just ain't on the "AT". I've spent a lot of time hiking on the AT over the years and love it. But I Love to hike the side trails too. Lots of trails out there that connect with the AT and some a lot less crowded.Originally Posted by speedy
