parking in port clinton pa.

Our plans got changes and we decided to do the lower half of PA this fall. We figure on parking our car in Port Clinton and either hiking south to Pen Mar and getting a hitch back to the car or getting a hitch south and hiking back to the car. This would leave the car in Port clinton for approx. 10 days. Does any one have any suggestions on where to park and if any one has had any problems leaving thier cars parked there. ALso which would be the best way to get a hitch or is there any bus service to get us either to or back from pen-mar? thanks Tag along
