Question Harpers Ferry from New York City

I'll be dong a section hike in about a month beginning in Harpers Ferry northbound, probably to Duncannon, PA.

I live in New York City and I've found that I can take a train to DC, and then another train out to Harpers Ferry. This is a fairly long trip with a bit of a stop over in DC.

What are the alternatives? I can get a bus to Frederick, MD, but that is also lengthy with a change in Baltimore. Then how do I get the 20 or so miles from Frederick to Harpers Ferry?

Any ideas about the best way to get there from here?

    Thanks
    Pb

    Default Take the train

Relax, and take the train. It gets into Harpers Ferry at the end of the afternoon.

I took the train from Boston to Harper's Ferry. Left Boston early in the morning. So, I just relaxed and enjoyed the trip.

You can also take the MARC (It's it's the Maryland Area Regional Commuter or something like that) from Union Station. Just an other option that may cut down on your layover time. Worth looking into any way.
