    Default Kifaru?? Heard of them?

    Hello all,
Has anyone ever heard of this company? They make a cool looking tarp tent... the ParaTepee. BUT they sent a tube of DAP tub and tile caulking to seam seal it with. What do you think? It DIDN"T work. It peals right off!

I have not used this brand of tent but I recently purchased a golite hex tipi tent. You do not have to seam seal this tent because the seams swell when they get wet..the first time I used it rained and it worked great.

    Default a little help

Wasn't there something posted about using 1 part mineral spirits to 2 parts of the caulk? I remember reading something about that.

Wasn't the Kifaru the teepee tent reviewed in backpacker that had the stove for heat? http://www.backpacker.com/gear/artic...3,3908,00.html

DebW, you are right there, I have the 4 man with a wood burning stove. Tent and stove !3.5 lbs.The new silnylon one is way lighter. I have been in it on Mt. Rogers when it was 10 degrees and the wind was blowing 40+ mph and was in a tee shirt unless I had to go get more wood. Patrick also makes a 8 and 12 man.

I believe it was The magazine's product of the year
