    I got this recipe from Prosecutor on another forum.


    Mix the following dry ingredients thoroughly:
    1 ½ cup instant one minute oats
    1 cup dried banana chips, chopped fine
    ½ cup chopped prunes (I used apples)
    ½ cup chopped apricots
    ½ cup dried chopped pineapple
    1 ¼ cup chopped walnuts
    1 cup flour
    ½ cup brown sugar
    ½ cup white sugar
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    3 tablespoons light corn syrup
    1 cups pure maple syrup, grade B is best
    1/4 cup canola oil

    Mix the dry ingredients together first, then mix in the liquid ingredients. Preheat an oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9" by 13" metal cooking pan with PAM. Spread this thick mixture into the pan. Cook 50 to 55 minutes. Cool completely at least an hour. Cut into bars. Freeze the bars in sandwich sized baggies for your lunch or snack. If you cut
    the pan into 4 large bars, each bar will have 1,044 calories.
    If you cut the pan into 6 bars, each bar will have 696 calories.

    Power Balls

    5 cups Dry Cereal Flakes (Any Brand: Corn, Oat, etc.)
    1 Cup Peanut Creamy Butter
    1 Cup Sugar
    1/2 Cup Dark Corn Syrup

    Optional: substitute 1 cup of flakes with 3/4 cup Raisins, Dry fruit, Chopped Nuts, Chocolate etc (anything that you might like).

    Crush Flakes in large bowl and mix in optional ingredients. Add peanut butter and stir mixture to consistency

    Mix Sugar and Syrup in pot and bring to boil. Pour into Bowl and mix with large spoon

    Spoon into 1 or 2" Balls and place on a sheet of aluminum foil to cool

    Should make about 15- 30 balls depending on size.

    Should keep a couple of weeks in a well sealed container (depending on climate etc.) Do not store for extended time period.

    If you want more protein than what the peanut butter will provide, you might experiment by adding some type of supplement (I have never tried this).

    Akin to moose goo (corn flour, PB and honey) is chocolate lovers' moose goo - I add a melted king size milk chocolate bar to the traditional moose goo mix.

    I also make a homemade bar -

    1 c. uncooked oats
    1 cup mesa (corn flour)
    1 c. crunchy peanut butter
    1 c. honey
    2 T. margarine or olive oil (sometimes I add a bit more)
    1/2 c. protein powder (vanilla or chocolate)
    1 c. chocolate chips
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. coconut

    Put a piece of wax paper on a cookie sheet, mash it all together with your hands, spread it out on the wax paper, chill it and cut into bars. Experiment with substitutions for the last three ingredients to get a taste you like. I wrap these in wax paper because they are kind of sticky, but they are good - not too sweet and provide long-term energy. Recipe makes about 12 to 15 2" x 3" bars.

    I like:
    3 c oats or mueseli
    3 c of whatever you like: ie, 1 c choc. chips, 1 cup coconut, 1 cup craisins
    2 T butter, melted
    1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
    .25 c cocoa
    .5 c peanut butter (softened in microwave)

    Blend all ingredients, bake at 375 for 25 minutes in either mini muffins or small "log" rolls.

    You put in whatever substitutes you like for that 2nd 3 cups of ingredients and also eliminate either the cocoa or the peanut butter. The peanut butter adds a little fat and protein, and the consistency is a little more brownie-like.

    Gumball's trail bars are the best, you gotta try 'em. We call them trail dots, and I now eat them all the time. Endless variations. Do it!

    Default Gumball

    I just made another batch last night, this time with semi-sweet dark chocolate chips added in with the peanut, dried fruit, sunflower seeds, etc. Pretty tasty. I may try mixing in some peanut butter next time.

    Neo, go to cooks.com and do a search for granola, or power bars, etc, and you will get hundreds of receipes. I use it all the time for other cooking needs. good luck and happy cooking.
