You probably don't have to carry any. I've found several on the AT that the boy scouts left after they realized they were so heavy and unnecessary. If you are a musician, you can bring your axe. I heard about one guy who carried his tuba.

Hey, Bob, PB is wondering about carrying axes on the AT... not you! LOL
I would much rather be anywhere on a trail right now
than just sitting in front of some computer reading about it.

The amin reason i want to carry an axe ia mainly because of my name. I mean what's a Paul Bunyan without his axe?

I am sorry for that attrocias spelling, i have a bad cold and it's affecting my fingers.

What I wanted to say was, what's a Paul Bunyan without his axe?

That might work for Tom Thumb, but, not Paul Bunyon.

    Default Axe?

If you're going to carry an axe, carry an axe:

I was going to have my dog carry my pack, but she may be to small at 1 foot, four inches tall and 2 feet long, and about 21 pounds. Unfortunately, i would have a picture up, but it isn't working.

    P.S. She's a beagle.
