Thanks for the interest. No, mule of 1990 got his name from his 100lb pack at Springer. He was from Dorville, Georgia. His first night of camping ever was on Springer and he found that he liked hiking so much that one year he hike from Ga. to Rusty's just to spend Chistmas with Rusty. I had hiked alot with him on our thru but now I haven't been able to find him for years.
Anybody know Mule?

Jim, Last time I saw Mule he was a bit hypothermic and I gave him some tea. This was about March 26, 27, or 28, 1990. My AT notes are all buried in a box somewhere. I didn't get to know him.

I have started to look around for other 1990 hikers to plan a reunion at Trail Days in a couple of years to celebrate our 20 year anniversary.

Let me know if you are in contact with any other folks from 1990.
