I've got it.
Godwin's Law (also known as Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies)[1] is a humorous observation made by Mike Godwin in 1990 which has become an Internet adage. It states: "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."[2][3] The term Godwin's law can also refer to the tradition that whoever makes such a comparison is said to "lose" the debate.
Godwin's Law is often cited in online discussions as a deterrent against the use of arguments in the widespread reductio ad Hitlerum form. The rule does not make any statement about whether any particular reference or comparison to Adolf Hitler or the Nazis might be appropriate, but only asserts that the likelihood of such a reference or comparison arising increases as the discussion progresses. It is precisely because such a comparison or reference may sometimes be appropriate, Godwin has argued,[4] that overuse of Nazi and Hitler comparisons should be avoided, because it robs the valid comparisons of their impact.
Although in one of its early forms Godwin's Law referred specifically to Usenet newsgroup discussions,[5] the law is now applied to any threaded online discussion: electronic mailing lists, message boards, chat rooms, and more recently blog comment threads, wiki talk pages, and Twitter.
If you find yourself in a fair fight; your tactics suck.
Actually, I'm simply letting you dig your own hole at this point.
Learn something more than the few tired terms you use. "Authoritarian" would work. "Draconian" perhaps. When you throw around "fascist" the way you do, you show a complete lack of imagination and a profound ignorance of what fascism actually is.
Tarring those from the south as typically being "fascist" doesn't help your case either. In fact, it's a form of hate speech, and it lessens you for using it. Again, you might want to rethink your approach.
Lastly, I've been civil, have not resorted to any personal attacks, and have not bothered to report any posts because maybe this could be a learning opportunity for you. This forum area is not one I moderate, but I feel justified in taking you to task because you are way out of line and don't even know it (or so I believe).
But if this were one of my forum areas, I would still let your posts stand. Better that everyone can see the nature of your character than to be so "authoritarian" as to pull your comments and let you hide until next time.
Last, I never copied and pasted. Nice try, but again, fail.
If people spent less time being offended and more time actually living, we'd all be a whole lot happier!
damn. . . I missed all the fun. . .
What are you all writing about?
Unionville, Nj is only .4 off the AT. With mail drop contents and gear spread out on a picnic table near the PO a person approached whom I am certain was about to have me move on, introduced himself as the town mayor.. After welcoming me and talking briefly, he asked me to his home for a hot shower and a chance to do laundry. I did not take him up on his offer, but it sure seemed like a friendly town to me.
