Thread: Access?

    Thumbs up Access?

Planning on finishing up the Georgia portion of the AT in August. Last year we hiked from Springer to Neels Gap.
This year we want to start at Neels Gap and finish up GA.

What is the easiest exit point in GA or NC as far as catching a ride to a town? Is there a shuttle service from NC back to Neels Gap area?

Need help, we have no idea. We are driving up from Florida and other than last year, haven't spent much time in the Georgia Mountains.

Thanks for your help and ideas.

Dick's Creek Gap is the last GA exit point and the easier hitchhike. The AT continues 8.8 miles in GA to Bly GAP NC from Dick's Creek GAP.
Contact the Walasi-Yi Center at Neal's GAP as they maintain a list of local people who provide shuttle services for a fee.

    Thanks smokymtnsteve,

Looks like no A.T. trip this summer for me Can't find a partner willing to go up with me when I have the time to go.

Well, there is always next year!
