    Default Help ID fungus please!!!

Does anyone know what kind of fungus this is? A buddy spears it grows along the AT, but these pics are from my back yard... Thanks for the help!

The color is an orangy red with a green sticky looking substance on the inside top. I believe is smells really bad, but not sure if that is the fungus or the pumping station they are working on...

Good info....I had one of those growing by my house in FL and it was the weirdest looking thing. I got rid of it and it hasn't come back.

Oh thank you!!! I knew there would be plant people here who knew what these are! At least I know where the smell is coming from - now to clean up the yard!
    So be it.

Jan, wasn't "help ID this fungus please" the usual greeting when two soggy 'AT03ers met at a lean-to?

And while we're IDing fungi, anyone know what the heck was this purple beauty near Potawadjo Spring in Maine last July?

If I had that purple stuff growing in the yard, I might just figure out how to get it to spread... That is really unique...
