    Woodsy,

I'm here a little north of Littleton, NH and have twice over the past 10 years seen a wolf in this area, both times in back of my old home in Lyman, NH. My property backed up on a large tract of woodland. I know several others who have spotted wolves(always solitary, never any group sightings) in the general area(Littleton, Lancaster, St. Johnsbury, VT). There are mixed reactions from conservation experts on the validity of these sightings, but I feel comfortable saying that there are wolves here in NH in the vicinity of the AT, especially from Moosilauke through Crawford Notch area. As to howling, most of it around here is from the coyotes and dogs - and local teenagers.
