Default Bugs in Sages Ravine Area???

I'm taking my 70 year old father on a three day hike to the Bear Mt./Sages Ravine area, which i loved when i thru-hiked in '97, but where I was ravaged by the mosquitos. Anyone have any info on bugs in that area in these rain-drenched times?

    Thanks

I haven't been to Sage's Ravine this year, but have been in the Berkshires several times in the last month (this morning, last weekend, 2 weeks before that). Black flies are almost gone (got one black fly bite last weekend). Mosquitoes are still out but not as bad as in June. The last 2 weeks have been fairly dry (last good downpour was June 22). Take the bug dope and hope for the best.

Much obliged. Can't wait to catch a dip in the cool Ravine water.

Just got back from a section hike from Bear Mtn, NY to Great Barrington, MA. Came through Sages Ravine. Black flies are not bad. There are a few zooming around, but not that bad. Plenty of misquitos. We used Repel and it seemed to do pretty well, but we still got bit, especially at night.
