    Question Medications

What have been solutions for thru hikers who take prescription medications? Will doctors give you a six month prescription that you can have refilled during your hike?

Some folks mail drop what they need to themselves every few weeks. You might want to try that. Doctors are usually pretty accomodating when you explain what you're up to.

    Good luck!

I have had some meds next dayed to me (fed-ex)

In transport high temps can cause drugs to degrade so I ship mine in an insulated bag with a cold pak and then Inside a box that I have line with foam.

    e-mail or PM for details

Or, if you know that you'll be in a town with a CVS or other chain pharmacy, you give the phone # to your doctor and he phones in the prescrip then it's waiting for you to pick up.
