Default Wacky Weather & Lightning Bugs

I was out walking the dog tonight & saw lightning bugs.

It is likely due to the wacky weather (warming cycle no doubt)

We used to catch them when we were kids, watch it light up in our hands, giggle as it flew away, and run to catch another one. Ah, those were the days...

    Hey Y'all.

Lightning bugs are back, exactly 1 day later than last year. This is due to leap year no doubt.

I blame Julius Ceasar. The extra month every other year was easier and probably gave more time off for hiking.

Lighting bugs do not normally schedule their Spring into Spring Festival based on leap year - if you will check your Lighting Bug calendar it is always the last Tuesday in March. And, if you have the 2009 calendar Bee sure and check out Miss June - now that's a Dorsal Longitudinal Trunk! woohoo

I just saw the first lightning bug in my yard this year. Later than past years, must be that global warming / climate change thing

This is my fifth year to report on the appearance of fireflies in my yard. I saw a lone bug lighting it up last night, March 25. It's been an early spring with the flora too.
