I've decided ta jet ahead an' bite da bullet an' do uh thru hike next year. My training iz going well an' I've got tyme off werk arranged. I've read many books an' dis here great site but would still like advice from peeps on here. I be wondering about water an' how bomb ta git it an' whether I should carry uh gat cuz o' da bears. If so, which gat should I take as I realise weight iz important but I need somethin' powerful enough ta stop da bear. Talking o' weight, what weight should I aim fo' wiff muh ma pack?

Thanks fo' any he`p. I can't wait ta git started. Peace an' respect sho 'nuff!

    "Biff's a lazy bum!"

That was always my favorite line from "Death of a Salesman".

Hey, I like your accent. What part of London are you from?

Sorry pimpz, I had nahh idea dat da colour o' muh ma skin would cause such offence ta ya all. I be indeed from Brixton in London an' wuz looking forward so much ta dis here hike an' finding out mo' about myself but didn't realise dis here site an' da AT wuz uh whites only reserve. I gots many blacks here in London o' all races an' gots never 'bfoe encountered such hostility. Thank ya fo' yo' tyme anyway an' I shall peep fo' an equally challenging hike somewhere where me an' muh ma kind mo' accepted.

Peace ta ya all brace yourself foo'!

I only wanted some helpful advice an' be uh bit confused by da response ta say da least. Sure ya may not like us Brits an' may even not wants us on da AT, but we's gots uh right ta walk dere surely, just as ya iz all welcome in muh ma country. I can assure ya o' one thin', da welcome ya receive will be uh whole lot warmer than da one I gots on here. I've only been ta da States once 'bfoe, an' da treatment I received wuz nuttin' but excellent. I wuz made ta feel very welcome an' almost like uh cousin. I'm sorry we's iz nahh longer looked on like dat. Anyway, nahh hard feelings. Good hiking pimpz.

Man, The Beatles wack! They iz rubbish. Move on. and ****.

Boff, I am so sorry you were not received warmly here. I may be able to answer some of your questions. Peeps usually come out around Easter time here in the states. It does not matter what kind of gat you bring as most of them will eat the mice in the shelters. Finally you should try to carry at least 150 pounds when you hike the AT. Again, sorry for my insensitive fellow Amerikans.
