Default Chances of meeting up early May

What is the traffic like starting off from Springer early May? Is it likely I'd be able to group up with some folks on the trail? Assuming... they like me ;-)

You will meet up with people, thru hikers, section hikers, day hikers if not today then eventually.
Photofanatic: I will try anything once and twice if I like it.

I was wondering the same thing. I'll be starting at Springer May 20. Probablly won't meet any thrus until I start to catch up to some but I think there should be plenty of people around.

I did the Approach Trail to Neel's Gap last year over May 15-19 and it wasn't crowded at all. The only semi-crowded time was on day 2 at Hawk Mtn. shelter when I think there might have been 15 people total. I'm doing Neel's to Standing Indian in a couple weeks, May 14-20th.
