    Default max patch hike options

I am trying to work out a 2.5-3 day hike in this area and would like some advice. Would you: a. Get a shuttle from Standing Bear Hostel to Garenflo Gap and hike back south? b. Get a shuttle from Hot Springs (Bluff Mtn. Outfitters) to Snowbird or Brown Gap and hike into town? c. Bust your ass to get from Standing Bear to H.S. or vice versa in 2.5 days? d. other? e. stay at home and mow the lawn, wash the minivan and die a slow, painless suburban death?

I'm old, fat, out of shape, and didn't have any trouble hiking from Standing Bear to Hot Springs in 2 1/2 days. The people at Bluff Mt. Outfitters will shuttle you back to Standing Bear.

Either from Standing Bear to Hot Springs or the reverse should be easily done in 2 1/2 - 3 days.

Yeah, 3 days from SBF to Hot Springs is a pretty good hike. It's around 30 miles, maybe a little less. In either direction, there's a big climb out, but I'd probably go northbound and end in H.S.
