    Default SOBO July 2008

Hey fellow hikers. I'm planning to leave Katahdin during the beginning of July. Going as lightweight and cheap as possible. Hope to see some of you along the way!

    Default Amen on going light!!

Just remember that you will be carrying more food at the 100-mile wilderness than anytime the next 450 miles... and don't count on the P.O. being open at Mt. Washington either!

Hey, maybe we can meet up sometime before the huts and do a "work stay!"

    Happy Hiking anyways...

    Default Opps!

Didn't catch your stating you were leaving beginning of July! Oh, well... hope to see and hear from each of you on yer journey SOBO along the A.T.... maybe, if I stop long enough to take some pics; you might catch up to me!

Also, cuz I have gone SOBO before, I will try to leave you some great "secret shelters" that I will use along the way!

Be careful and remember, one step in front of the other.

    I have official dates!

My plane gets in the 26th, and I will be summiting Katahdin on the 27th. Sleep the night at Katahdin stream, and then off for the adventure of my life.

A friend of mine pasted away this past thursday. in the past we talked about my hike and he said if he beat it (cancer), he would like to do a section with me on my SOBO. as thinks got worse he told his sister and i how many things he wished he had done. told me to go for it no mater what while i can. 3 hours before his viewing i got offered a g$$d job. i turned them down. somethings are more important and very few understand.
ill think of Danny on my hike.

Just thought I would let everyone know that I finished my hike on June 23. Best experience of my life. Looking forward to trying the PCT in 2010.

What an accomplishment and good feeling you must have right now. Congratulations and many rewarding days ahead of you, mainly, dreaming about getting out on the Trail.

    It never stops either.

    Shine on....you Crazy Diamond
