Well, it's put up or shut up time.

I finished the food preparation yesterday and did a final pack.

Since I'm terrified of starving, I'm carrying the food for an entire week. it is every bit of 15 pounds, so my pack weight is around 35 pound to start with.

I'm driving up today and will start hiking in the morning from FS42 at the foot of Springer. I hope to hike to Dick's creek gap in a week.

I'll be back with a report on experiences and lessons learned.
