Default NJ and MA day hikes

I'm looking to: (a) finish the NJ AT from High Point to PA, and (2) do most of MA. I want to do section hikes, 2 cars, 6-12 miles per day.

I've already finished NY & CT. I'm 49, and I hike at a moderate speed, but I like to stop and take pictures.

I would do weekends and possible weekdays. I'm not in a great hurry to finish.

I'm looking for one or two hiking companiions.

    Thanks!

I could be one of them. You don't say when you plan to go out next. Also, did you mean day hikes strung together staying at hostels or hotels? Or did you have single day hikes separated by several days or weeks?

Hello Scott & thanks for responding.

I'm open to either single-day hikes as well as some multi-day stays (which seems the most cost effective in completing miles.

I've checked your profiel and see you are from NC - are you planning any trips up north?

    Hi ATHIKEZ,

NJ and MA day hikes work for me. How many miles can you hike in a day?

    Hello refreeman,

My preference is around 8 miles for a single hike, though i've done up to 12 miles. I'm located in NY so travelling to MA is about an 60+ minutes for me. I've only done the first couple miles of MA.

I hike on weekends and sometimes weekdays.

I might like to do a day hike, then do dinner and do a short hike afterwards to knock off a couple of easy miles.

What is your MA hiking experience?

    Andy
