    Default Parking in Hot Springs?

Any suggestions? Getting ready to leave for a 8 day section hike and need a place to ditch the truck for a week.

The Forest Service parking area is located just south of town beside the Jesuit hostel that was once used by hikers many years ago. You can drive down the main drag, turn right at the BP gas station, up to the school and turn left at the sign ( for the Forest Service Parking lot). This is a great place to park. Never had a problem, I maintain this section for CMC.

Thanks ya'll - the USFS parking lot it is. Any camping spots over that way in case we get in late? Or for that matter, any free camping spots near the river (not at the campground - we're on the austerity budget for this trip)

Are you going NOBO or SOBO ? There are some sites on the trail heading south not too from the parking lot.
