I thought the lowest point on the AT was the Bear Mountain Bridge over the Hudson River at 800 feet.

The AT where it crosses I-70 in Maryland is lower than 1200 feet.

You can see my trip report from another low high point here. I am partial to this one as it my home state. 812 feet. Oh yes!!!

I suspect both are better than Delaware's high point of Ebright Azimuth (wonderful name). 448 ft and next to a trailer park.

Mags, if we're talking about the entire US, then of course the lowest point would be Death Valley in California at over 200 feet below sea level.

the LOWEST *HIGHEST* point. So it would be Florida..

I don't think he asked for the overall lowest point?

Incidentally, the lowest point inthe US (Death Valley) and highest point inthe lower-48 (Whitney) are in the same county and is the goal of the Badwater ultra.

Sorry, I'm at work and didn't read the whole question. You are correct that the state with the lowest high point is Florida.

Ding Ding...Florida! We have a winner.

Carl, show 'em what they've won...

Ok, so which state has the highest lowest point?

Obviously not a coastal state. My guess is Colorado. Suppose it could be Montana - nah, that's too big.

Colorado at 3320', right next to the Nebraska border.

It's also very close to NEBRESKA'S highest point...

It's geographic trivia like this that I just soaked up as a kid. I knew Florida, and I was pretty sure about Colorado.

which state uses the most duct tape? I heard this on the trail this year. I can't verify the facts, and I have no clue regarding its usage. Any insight?
