Default Good overnight hike in Shenandoah

hi, I alooking for a good overnight hike in Shenendoah. I am really hoping for somewthing that has a great place to camp on a ridge with spectacular views.

a lot depends on what you are willing to do in terms of carrying water and distance to hike - there are a couple good sites that I can think of that fit your description but because they are up on a ridge they are dry camps - for example camping up on Rocky Mount or along Brown Mtn. Tr. or out near Bear Church. If you don't want a dry camp then about all I can think of is camping up on Hightop - I think the spring up there is still running - you would need to camp away from the overlook however - back toward the old firetower base there are several sites.

it's no problem for me to carry some water to the campsite. I think something under 20 miles would be good.
