Detailed topo trail maps
I want the best map out there for the area of fontana to newfoundland. Who makes them if any?
The best map I found for the Smokys:

There are only a couple maps.
Smokies Park map which is not to detailed except for trail profiles.
USGS map which probably haven't been updated for a couple years.
The National Geographic is the official AT trail map for the Smokies. The newest edition actually has mileage info in between shelters and gaps. And has more detailed on side trails. It has a red band on the front.

Very cool! thanks, much better than my Delorme NC gazeteer & atlas map. They sell those at the local bass pro shop. havent seen one with the red band on the front,,,,,will keep checking though.
