Yeah, I've used them. Nice tent. I'll sell you one in great shape for $100 shipped. It's blue in color.
Did not know they came in blue.
What kinda shape is it in?
Any pics?
Yeah, they came in blue. It's a few years old but I haven't been using it as I went with a single walled silnylon tent. As far as I can tell, it's the exact same tent as the light green ones they're selling now. It's in very good condition. If you're interested, I'll throw in the nylon foot print too, as I won't need it.
At one time, this was the most used backpacking tent. Just about everyone carried one.
On sale at EMS.
I don't have the clip, have the sleeved version which was originally sold. The same basic tent. Light (for dual walled), roomy (for one +gear), sturdy (for three season), effective. Used it year-round for many years. In fact, my first one was stolen, so I purchased an identical replacement.
My point is, it is a good choice for an inexpensive, traditional tent. Also adequate for two close friends.
Hey, anyone remember the Sierra Designs Starflight? Yellow, lopsided pyramid, Sierra Designs original sub four-pound tent. Precursor to the Flashlight series.
Still have one of those, loved that tent in it's day. Very popular in the '70's
Anyway, back to the topic of the Flashlight...
Yeah, buy a new one.

I still have and often use my 1992 version. Still waterproof (for the most part), and the floor is still intact....
Very happy overall - perfect car camping tent - I went with a lighter Mtn Hardwear for backpacking...
Be Prepared
Put a lot of miles on mine, excellent tent. At that sale price it's a very good deal.
If you don't make waves, it means you ain't paddling
Mine has served me well. The only negative comment I would have is that it is not free-standing, which makes it harder to setup on the tent platforms I have come across in VT and NH.
I have used one and they are ok. Like someone else mentioned--they are not light by today's standards but they work and are priced right.
Only think I didn't like was the non-freestanding part. I used it in snow and wish I didn't have to put down stakes into the frozen ground.
But overall a good tent.
