Question about departure date

I'm planning to head NOBO in 08. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a departure date that would land me around trail days in Damascus on schedule. If it matters I plan on doing the approach trail to Springer.

April 1st should get you there in time. That's a 10 mile per day average, not counting any days off.

i left april 1st in 05 and was about 2-3 days out on the thursday before TD. so if i had pushed i could have made it easily. instead i just hitched a ride from bob peoples at the kincora hostel.

if I'm not mistaken April 1st was THE day to start a NoBo thru-hike and WHY Trail Days falls in the middle of May.

That sounds great guys I appreciate the advice. Since I'm a little pokey sometimes I think Ill leave the last couple days of march so that I have plenty of time.

All depends on your pace. I'd say allow at least an hour.

April 4 worked for me, doing 11 miles/day average. Got there a day or two early.
